The original WEM course designed by Barbara Conable consists of:

Hour 1: Movement, Senses, and Attention
Hour 2: Balance

These six sections may vary in length depending on the specific needs to the musicians attending the course.

What Every Choral Singer Needs to Know About the Body
I first offered this version of WEM in May of 2018 in Ottawa where it was met with resounding success. Some of the topics covered in this one-day workshop were:
  • Body alignment and postural patterns
  • Tension in neck and shoulder muscles
  • Breathing deeper with less effort
  • Jaw and tongue tension
  • Holding a folder ("folder shoulder")
  • Foot pain when standing to sing
  • Singing while sitting
If this, or another singer-specific course is of interest to you, let me know.

  • Thoracic outlet syndrome
  • Neck and back pain

Other instrument-specific variations of WEM are available upon request.
