What Every Pianist Needs to Know About the Body
A one-day course in Body Mapping specifically designed for pianists.  We will cover the following topics
  • What is Body Mapping?
  • Balance of the torso in sitting at the piano
  • Arms: an in depth look at the whole arm, its movement and common injuries
  • Use of legs in pedaling
  • Constructive rest to enhance practice and performance
  • Injuries that are common for pianists and how to prevent and recover through Body Mapping

Cost: $50 for post-secondary students, $70 for non-students
Date: January 12th, 2014
Location: Seminar Room, MU2021, Memorial University School of Music
Time: 10am-6pm, break approximately 1pm-2pm
